FLO is a North Orange County based water polo club dedicated to providing water polo for all. We introduce beginners to the game while also training teams that travel to junior national events. Our goal is to make sure everyone has the opportunity to develop their ability and passion for this amazing game.

FLO Water Polo proudly practices at the Fullerton College Pool and competes regularly at Segerstrom High School/Santa Ana YMCA. Both are 50 meter facilities.

What level should you place your child?

Beginner Requirements: Comfortable in deep water for extended periods off the wall, unassisted 25 yard wall to wall freestyle ability. We have noodles to help teach egg beater, but basic free style ensures your class can be water polo focused more than swim lesson focused.
Beginner Focus: Learning the motor mechanic skills needed to play water polo, head up swimming, treading, throwing the ball, and very basic introduction to contact. The main thing here is to teach them the physical skills they will need to be able to learn at the Intermediate level while still teaching a love for the game.

10U/12U/14U Age Group Practice: All Beginner Requirements. Main difference is this group with slightly more complex drills that will have multi-faceted focuses.
10U/12U/14U Age Group Focus: Utilizing the motor mechanic skills learned in Beginner to develop the athletes’ individual abilities in the team. Their ability to attack and defend one on one in game situations like shooting, set, driving. As they move into travel team groups they will be utilizing these one on one abilities in a team environment learning how to utilize knowledge, awareness, and communication to accomplish goals together.

Travel Team Requirements: Commitment to competitive schedule is paramount. Games are a huge part of the growing experience and we are becoming more rigid in our enforcement of team attendance now that we have established FLO youth teams interest in Junior Olympics. There will be at many weekends of travel play, ability levels range greatly, we will enter as main teams as we have interest for to any event or league.

16U/18U HS Teams: 16U/18U Teams train together and we staff to ensure small groups can move at appropriate paces. We field as many teams as we have interest for to any event or league.
